Vueling is launching flights on two new routes from Gatwick Airport with the selling point of cheaper seats than easyJet and British Airways. The Spanish low-cost airline has boosted its presence at Gatwick with Seville, Granada, Malaga, Almeria, Menorca and La Coruña added to its summer schedule since April to bring the number of destinations served to 16.
On the two new routes, flights to Jerez (Cádiz) begin on July 1 followed by Genoa, Italy on July 3. Jerez will be served twice a week and Genoa three times a week with fares starting at £31.99. Looking at July 1 on Google Travel, a one-way flight to Cadiz on easyJet costs £87 at press time and £156 with British Airways. In comparison, a seat on a TUI flight is sold for £185.
The airline will also operate a total of 11 direct connections from other UK airports – Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Glasgow – for a total of 27 direct air connections to destinations in Spain, France and Italy.

Carolyn Prowse, Commercial, Customer, Strategy and Network Director, said: “Vueling has scheduled a total of 113 destinations in 31 countries through October 29, 2022, reaching a very similar level of operations to 2019.
“We are delighted to see a gradual development of the business this year and to continue to expand the airline’s offer across Europe. The recent announcement of new operations from London Gatwick to Jerez Airport and Genoa City Airport demonstrates strong confidence in UK tourism to popular European destinations.
