A seven-year-old Irish girl died in hospital two days after being pulled from her hotel pool in Mallorca and resuscitated before being rushed to an intensive care unit.
Sources at Son Espases Hospital in the island’s capital, Palma, confirmed she lost her fight for life on Wednesday afternoon.
A routine police investigation into Monday’s incident at the four-star HYB Eurocalas hotel in the east coast resort of Calas de Mallorca is underway.

The youngster was rushed to hospital “in critical condition” on Monday afternoon, with police clearing a path for her ambulance so she could get there as quickly as possible.
A spokeswoman for an emergency coordination center run by the regional government said on Tuesday: ‘We took a call around 3.40pm on Monday.
“Lifeguards performed CPR on her after pulling her out of the water because she had suffered cardiac arrest.
“Paramedics continued to try to resuscitate her after they reached the scene and got her breathing again in the back of the ambulance.
“She was taken to Son Espases Hospital.”
Six-year-old Corey Aughey, from north Belfast, died in hospital on June 5 after falling into the swimming pool at the hotel where he was staying with his family in the Mallorcan resort of Sa Coma, near the villa Love Island.
Last month, another toddler drowned in a swimming pool accident on the Costa Blanca.
Freddie Joseph Briggs died in the swimming pool of his parents’ home in the village of Aigues near Benidorm on May 25, leading the local council to declare three days of mourning.
Tributes were paid to the 19-month-old boy at his funeral at a Belfast church where he was baptized before being buried in a nearby cemetery.
Father Thomas McGlynn told mourners at the service that the youngster had brought happiness to those around him and enjoyed his short life “to the fullest”.
The child’s father, Marc Briggs, known to friends as Briggsy and believed to be from Mansfield, Notts and his Belfast-born mother, Jane Mohan, had moved to the Costa Blanca shortly before the tragedy.
On May 9, a Briton drowned in a nearby river that had claimed the lives of three other people over the past month as he tried to save his dog.
Former Royal Navy sailor Paul Lebihan, from Gateshead, died after struggling in the river at a stunning site a short drive from the Costa Blanca resort of Benidorm.
Friends and relatives then paid tribute to the 24-year-old passionate amateur boxer and launched a GoFundMe appeal which has already raised around half of its £15,000 goal to help his family bring Paul’s body home and to contribute to the funeral expenses.
In the early hours of June 7, a British holidaymaker died after falling on rocks in Sitges, south of Barcelona.
The 23-year-old died instantly after losing his balance in an accident which police say happened at the time when he fell from a replica cannon outside a riverside church of the sea.
