The Queen of Spain arrived in the UK for a special visit and met the Prince of Wales at a gallery event yesterday (April 6).
Queen Letizia attended an event in Bishop Auckland with Prince Charles and was there to open the Spanish Gallery, the UK’s first space dedicated to the nation’s artists.
To attend the official opening, Queen Letizia wore a stunning all-red ensemble. She opted for a wine-red long-sleeved midi dress, with buttons on the shoulders.
The Queen of Spain coordinated her dress with a pair of pumps in the same deep red as her dress.
Prince Charles wore a tie and pocket square in a similar shade of red, which also matches one of the colors of the Spanish flag.
Photographs from the visit were shared on the official Clarence House Instagram account, which showed the two royals visiting the gallery, as well as visiting an art collection at Auckland Castle.

Queen Letizia could also be seen waving to school children who gathered outside waving Spanish and British flags to welcome her and other members of the public.
A caption next to the photographs explained that the Queen of Spain had officially opened the Spanish Gallery, which is dedicated to “the art, history and culture of Spain and houses portraits of key artists such as El Greco, Zurbarán, Velázquez and Murillo”.
